The project aims to promote cultural awareness and artistic expression among young artists and
activists, fostering dialogue, tolerance, and empathy through collaborative activities, Artivist
Congresses, and local initiatives in Goražde, Kreševo, Doboj, and Bugojno. The central focus is on
empowering youth through drama to break down prejudices, broaden perspectives, and facilitate
personal development.
Area of project activities:
Young people from 15 to 25 years old.
Project activity area:
Gorazde, Bugojno, Kresevo i Doboj.
The project started in 2019 and was implemented in two phases until October 2023. By raising awareness of the importance of culture and art in general, young artists and activists strive to create dialogue, as well as to develop tolerance and empathy. During the project, young people from Goražde, Kreševo, Doboj and Bugojno had the opportunity to work and socialize together through numerous activities, and then to participate in three Artivist Congresses together with guests from Montenegro and Serbia. The activities were carried out by educators in the field of dramatic arts (professors of movement, speech, producers, playwrights), communication and activism. It is important to note that at Altteatr, young people are at the center of our concern: through the use of drama, we take them on a personal journey of learning to express themselves, build self-esteem and increase their confidence. The magic of learning and transformation happens when prejudices and wrong beliefs are broken and other perspectives are opened up for their operation in communities.
Within the framework of the project, two plays were made: the amateur "Awakened City" and the professional "Balkan Square with Chalk", three Artivist Congresses were held and two local initiatives in Bugojno and Goražde were supported.
